The Navy in 2006 began the process of implementing the Quality Management System in accordance with the Technical Quality Standard NTCGP 1000, which provides guidelines for public sector entities for the implementation of the management system quality set by the national government, so that is has become a strategic tool for achieving corporate goals propuestos.La Navy as an added value to the process of implementing the Quality Management System is certified by the Colombian Institute of Technical Standards (ICONTEC), under the guidelines of the International Standard ISO 9001:2000 and NTCGP 1000, as a result of this audit, the certification body found that the different processes that support the organization, meet the requirements set forth in Standard, belonging to the institution and customer requirements also ICONTEC is attached to IQNET, accredited by DAR-TGA, one of the largest entities in the global, so this certification is internationally recognized in more than 120 countries.

The adoption of a quality management model in the Navy due beyond regulatory complement, the desire to further develop their own schemes institutional vanguard of organizational performance, current results separating low quality standards that contemplate point as the effectiveness, efficiency and effectiveness on a consolidated basis of legitimacy.
